Liffey is a small community 50 kilometres from Launceston, nestled in the foothills of the Great Western Tiers.
The drive takes you through rural countryside, and on into mountain scenery of bush and forests.Drys Bluff is the highest peak on the Western Tiers escarpment.
Liffey Falls is a major attraction in the area. This is an easily accessible and spectacular waterfall, worth a visit in all seasons. There is a well-defined track from either the top or the bottom of the Falls, and good picnic facilities and barbeque area. Escape the heat of summer with a stroll down the track to the falls, where you can swim or just sit in the cool of the shade.
